Hummer Mountain Rescue

A little known group puts 55,000 miles (88,000 kilometers) a year on their H3 Hummer. The group has HRH Prince Williams of Wales as their patron and is entirely supported by charitable donations. Last year the group made 957 rescues in England & Wales. This organizations calls itself the England Wales Hummer Mountain Rescue Group. Club member William Smithson says the Hummer is in use 24 hours a day and can't remember when it sat idle for longer than 4 or 5 hours.

The organization is made up of 53 teams and 3,500 team members who freely volunteer their time. Some rescues take 25 team members and might require the use of the Hummer H3 for several days. This service operates 24/7 on 365 days of the year and there in no charge to the rescuees.

After having vehicles that range from Jeeps to Land Rovers, the group has found the Hummer H3 to be it's favorite and vehicle of choice. The H3 is the perfect size, rugged, reliable and has many unique features.

The Hummer H3 is the only vehicle of its size that can climb a 407 mm vertical wall, traverse 610 mm of water andclimb a 40% slope loaded with gear and rescuers. The H3 has participated in aircraft crash rescues in the mountains of England on several occassions.

England and Wales are not alone in their praise of the H3. The Canadian Yukon province also has a dedicated Hummer H3 for rescue. Hummer.......

like nothing else!
