NUMBER FIVE!

K & W Research just completed a worldwide poll on which brand names you associate with the United States of America. They were told to list or say as many as they knew. In some places the poll was done orally, & in some places on paper and covered a range of ages from 8 to 92. Over 25,000 people were polled in 62 countries, including Asia, Australia, China, Japan, Iceland, France, Germany, Egypt, India, Aruba, Brazil, Argentina, and Algeria to only name a few.

The answers given to the question, "What brand names do you associate with the United States of America?" in order of frequency of response, the top five are:

1. Coca Cola

2. McDonalds

3. Disney (Disneyland /Disneyworld)

4. CNN

5. Hummer

No other vehicle or car names were in the top 25. The next closest vehicle name mentioned was
Ford at #31....... no particular make or model, just Ford. Cadillac was also listed, but did not make the top 50. What is truly unique about Hummer, is that ALL THE OTHER brand names in the top 15 have been for sale or in the market for over 25 years. Hummer, with the 2003 H2 is the youngest of the brand names, followed by CNN launched in June of 1980. Hummer has the name recognition, now it needs to be tweaked by GM to get back to profitability.
