THE HUMMER WILL STAY!

Contrary to summer reports that CSI Miami would replace their well known silver H2s with silver hybrid Tahoes, the Hummer is staying. Production staff wanted an "all American vehicle" that showcased its uniqueness and sharp corners. CSI Miami director Scott Lautanem uses the Hummer almost as a piece of art, showcasing it as the centerpiece in many shots. The gorgeous CSI Miami cast member Emily Procter said it best in an interview several years ago, "When bad guys are chasing you, shooting at you, and trying to run you off the road, give me a Hummer every time."

In many ways CSI Miami carries on the color and art deco themes made famous with Miami Vice. If you are a serious CSI Miami watcher, notice that the H2 is always surrounded by a strongly contrasting color in its shots. The H2 Hummer looks like no other SUV and in a real world sense, can go places in the Everglades that others fear to tread.
My hats off to CSI Miami for not bowing to pressure to replace the H2 with a hybrid or even worse, a smaller foreign SUV! You've made a fan for life CSI Miami!
