As if the news about the Hummer brand couldn't get any worse, the first Hummer dealer in the US established in 1994, and the only stand alone Hummer dealer left, is up for sale. The Lynch Hummer dealership is up for sale for a cool 7 million. Lynch's Hummer dealership has won more awards than Tylenol has pills. I bought one of my Hummers from him and it was the best vehicle buying experience I ever had.
Lynch is the world's largest H1 and H1 parts dealership and in its prime sold 70 plus Hummers a month. With the economy as it is, they have been selling about 10 Hummers a month at their dealership. The quonset hut style dealership on 7 plus acres was built in Chesterfield Valley at a cost of $7.5 million dollars. This dealership is located in the heart of the most affluent area of St. Louis County, in Chesterfield, and has a centralized US location. Several other auto dealerships on nearby Manchester Rd. have closed their doors and vacated the premises.
Lynch said he's moving to a smalle, more affordable location, probably in St. Charles or O'Fallon, MO. After Tobin Hummer we now have the last and largest stand alone Hummer dealer closing its doors on its quonset style dealership. Along with the shutdown of the H2 line we have bad signs for the future of Hummer and loosing Lynch significantly lowers the value of the brand for anyone considering buying it. When Lynch closes its doors at that gorgeous dealership, a chapter in Hummer history will be gone forever.
