Drivers in other countries are finding out just what Hummer owners in the United States have always known. When you need to get through snow, mud or deep water - nothing beats a Hummer. In many third world countries where the roads are mud, gravel or dirt people are discovering the Hummer will get you there and it will do it comfortably with reasonable economy. Owners in Africa, South America, and Asia use their Hummers "off road" every day on the higways and trails.
In Sao Paulo, Brazil it's almost impossible to find an H3 for sale, and when one comes in, "it's sold before it gets off the boat,", says Victor Sanchez of Sao Paulo Vehicle Sales. He continues, "the (Hummer) H3 is the perfect size for traffic in the city and travel into the thick (Amazon). I could sell a couple every week if I could get them. Every one here talks about the wonderful breakover angle for venturing into the thick and traction in mud. I got a new H3T in last month without warning and had a bidding war with 6 people in the lot within the first hour, with the buyer paying $175,000 reals (about $97,000 US dollars). It actually stopped traffic on the road in front."
While sales in the United States continue to slide, sales overseas, particularly in Russia, Brazil, Bogota, and Egypt are up over 100% according to AutoInsiderTm. In Kenya sales of Hummers are up 300% this year - Africa has discovered the Hummer! Not all Hummers overseas are being bought by wealthy individuals, but by police forces, military forces, medical professionals, and delivery services. The Hummer does EXACTLY what it was designed to do and does it extremely well and in comfort with reliability!
