Want an H2 - now is the time!

While the negotiation that is never ending goes on with Tengzhong and GM over the Hummer brand, dealerships are loosing patience and money. Will there be many Hummer dealerships left when and if this deal is completed? The Phantom told me in a call Wednesday, that the future of the H2 is in SERIOUS DOUBT and that an individual (former dealer and entrepreneur) from California has been buying up new H2s and warehousing them in California. I hope those rumored to be 25 to 35 Hummer H2s in the warehouse are out of the fire zones in California.
Some of you old farts may remember Bob Wingate of Ontario, CA. He bought up new '63 to '67 Corvettes and warehoused them, then sold them a decade later as untitled new Corvettes for prices up to $100,000 - a lot of money in 1977! Bob also factory ordered some very rare COPO Corvettes that commanded even more money when sold in the 80s. One was a 1967 that came from the St. Louis Corvette plant with a special L88 motor in it, a factory roll bar, and no passenger seat or insulation. This car was in the Special Collection at Bloomington in the early 80s, and has disappeared in recent years. Will there be a Hummer event like the Bloomington Gold Corvettes if this deal falls through? A lot of people are betting on it and "collecting Hummers."

That's true. The warehouse is in Van Nuys by the airport and there are 27 new 2009 H2s in there (12 of them are SUTs). I've heard they are going to ship them overseas. There are also 6 new Shelby 500 KR Mustangs and two red Z06s brand spanking new under cover behind the Hummers. The same guy owns them all.
