Hummer

Although we have seen the demise of  Hummer in the United States, people in third world countries are finding that the Hummer takes a beating and keeps on ticking.  They are currently in very high demand in those parts of the world.  When it comes to unimproved mud roads, the Hummer with its highest approach angle of any mass produced SUV and 10.7 inch ground clearance on the H2, 9 inches on the H3, and 16 inches in stock form for an H1,puts these vehicles in a class by themselves.   International Offroad 4X4 Autoblog stated it best when they said, "the Hummer brand was targeted by a group with an agenda. Hardly any of them realized the uncanny capabilities of this vehicle. The H2 was drubbed as a Chevy Tahoe in disguise, with little care for the totally
different underpinnings, capabilities and 4 wheel drive delivery system of these vehicles.  Many still believe the Hummer H3 and H2 were designed too well and lookedso much like their H1 contemproaries, they became more of an anti war and anti military target than any vehicle in US history, including the Jeep.  Left unsaid was the fact the Hummer H3 had an 18 mpg highway and combined 16 mpg, better than several American SUVs and trucks at the time it was being sold."
