2010 H3 delayed & 2010 H2 in doubt

THE PHANTOM called from his lofty perch at the GM puzzle palace this morning to advise me that production of the 2010 H3 and H3T will start "on or about Nov. 16th pending the September contract signings with Tengzhong." The 2010 H3 will have a flex fuel V8 as an option and an updated suspension package available (I asked if this meant air suspension like the H2 and THE PHANTOM was uncharacteristically MUM).

Manufacturing contracts have not been signed yet by Tengzhong with GM for the H3 as there is talk of a Chinese production facility (does this really surprise anyone?) He told me that things get quieter "and more depressing" every day in the executive suites as offices are cleared out and many of his friends take retirement. Many of them are latching onto the remaining 2009 H2s before they are shipped overseas because many think they will become collectibles. EEEGADS no mud and dirt underneath and wrapped in a plastic bag in someone's garage..... tell me it isn't so!

THE PHANTOM says the future of the H2 looks bleak at this time and the only hope is for AM General to buy the production rights, but they would have to rename & rebadge it and the price is rumored to be around $25 million for possibly saving the H2, as of this morning (that's before the legal fees though).....how about Humvee 2? It looks like the H2 will become a collectible unless AM General comes up with a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth.
