Offroading at night is not for the faint of heart, especially if you are alone! Make sure to take a long a survival kit to include water, blankets, flashlights and bugspray. Don't count on your cell phone working in the middle of nowhere. I've found one of the MAIN ADVANTAGES of ONSTAR is that it will sometimes work where my Sprint cellphone won't. During the hurricane evacuation from Houston there are many stories about ONSTAR working when cellphone systems were jammed and not working. In my case, I consider ONSTAR necessary for going it alone in the middle of nowhere. I also found areas of Colorado where I had no cellphone, but no problems with ONSTAR.
