There have been several reports of wheels coming off H2s because of a failed UCA. AM General said they have no reports of this except for one 2004 H2 with a 12" lift with non GM suspension and aftermarket UCA joints. There were also reports on the Hummer Elcova and Hummer GM forums traced to three individuals claiming wheel failure due to the UCA failing with the same IP address that don't even own a Hummer according to Martin Wilks of GM. "We take these matters of safety very seriously and investigate them, and have found that they all trace back to one individual making false claims under several assumed names on various Hummer forums" said Wilks. Also, there are no Highway Transportation safety warnings about this event.
