Rumor Mill and Hummer

The rumor mill is at it again with my retired friend from GM, the Phantom, telling me some of his old cronies have heard some serious stirrings about a group of US investors with heavy pockets and manufacturing experience, wanting to buy the Hummer brand name from GM. Al tough we've been through many years of will it be India, or China, or overseas, this new rumor seems to have some teeth to it, because most of my good information has come from those Monday night poker games in Annn Arbor.
According to the Phantom, Hummer is not dead, but "seriously wounded." This severe winter with all the snow has made many people rethink the capabilities (another word for "profit potential" to investors) of the Hummer (remember the "like nothing else" slogan). This group seems to have a lot of interest in the H3 and a V6 and possibly a low emission diesel down the road for the H3. Just don't draw this out, make an announcement that it's bought and production will resume or lay this rumor it to rest! I'm tired of getting my hopes up. The price has probably fallen quite a bit over the last few months for purchasing the Hummer brand name.
