2005 Hummer H2 in Ushuaia, Argentina

USHUAIA, the provincial capital and hub of tourism for the whole of Tierra del Fuego, lies in the far south of Isla Grande. Dramatically situated between the mountains – amongst them Cerro Martial and Monte Olivia – and the sea, the town tumbles, rather chaotically, down the hillside and has some of the steepest gravel roads in the world.  Unless you own a 4 X 4 there are many places you can only get to by pack mule in Ushuaia.  The main city area has paved streets and some of the most dramatic one day climate changes in the world.
