Hummer H2 vs. Toyota

Autoblog tested the Hummer H2 against the Toyota Landcruiser in a fairly accurate article, but biased in respect to the terrain the vehicles were tested on. I have to admit that in my opinion, Autoblog has always shown a favoritism towards Toyota and Honda and often times dismisses the improved quality and capabilities of American made vehicles. I would have loved to see the Toyota FJ as the comparison vehicle, since it is more similar to the Hummer.

As far as calling the Hummer the "off-roader for idiots," they were the ones that tried to put the rope through the needle hole and scraped up the H2. When it comes to departure and approach angles there is no comparison and the test had no mud, snow or deep water excursions where the H2 shines over all competition. Comparing the Landcruiser traction control to locking axles is something any true off-roader will tell you is like trying to compare a supercharger to ram induction.

I was at a recent event and everyone was ranting about the horrible state of the US economy. When I left, I noticed out of the 18 cars in the parking lot, my H2 was one of THREE American cars in the entire group. Is it no wonder the US auto industry is hurting today?
