Few vehicles are as instantly recognizable, or as beloved by their owners, as the Hummer. It's hard to say something nice about SUVs that are largely useless outside of a commando mission and that struggle to top 12 mpg. Although Hummer has become the poster child for excess, there's a lesson in seeing its name on this list: Standout styling and attitude will always resonate with some Americans, whether you're talking about a diminutive MINI Cooper or a massive 5,000-pound truck. Hummer's future is in serious doubt, however, as GM looks to dump the brand with no potential buyers in sight.
